I had this thought for a while, and it continues to percolate in the back of my mind. Is ethics built on a straw foundation?

The more I read articles and papers, the more I recognize suppositions about the origins of ethics and ethical ideas. From Aristotle’s time, he has an opinion, and then based all his ethical work on his own ideas and views.

People will try and say there are universal concepts, but I think that is also based upon the group and ideals. A society based on peace and inclusiveness will have a different ethical framework than a war based society.

As I grow into this field, I will continue with this struggle of accepting these universal truths while I development my own ethical glasses through which I will choose to see the world.
